Inspection Schedule of Electrical Apparatus

On an inspection schedule there are many items to check, these are:

• Apparatus is appropriate to area classification
• Surface temperature is correct
• Apparatus group is correct
• Apparatus carries correct circuit identification
• Enclosures are satisfactory and undamaged
• There are no unauthorised modifications
• Bolts, glands and stoppers are complete and tight
• There is no undue accumulation of dust or dirt
• Earthing is satisfactory
• Condition of enclosure, gaskets are satisfactory
• Electrical connections tight
• Air gaps and running clearances of motors are correct
• Lamp rating and type are correct
• Electrical protection is satisfactory
• No cable damage
• Apparatus is adequately protected
• Guards where used are present and correct
• Stopper boxes are filled correctly
